USING VIRTUAL REALITY AND AUGMENTED REALITY IN LEARNING ENGLISH PRONUNCIATION
Description
The incorporation of Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) into English pronunciation training represents a progressive approach in language education. This study evaluates the effectiveness of VR and AR technologies compared to traditional pronunciation instruction methods. A mixed-methods design was used, involving 80 intermediate English learners divided into two groups: one receiving conventional pronunciation training and the other utilizing VR and AR tools. The study employed pre-tests and post-tests to assess pronunciation proficiency, complemented by engagement and satisfaction surveys. Results demonstrated that the VR and AR group experienced a 30% improvement in pronunciation accuracy, compared to a 15% increase in the traditional group. Statistical analysis confirmed these differences as significant, indicating that VR and AR technologies can offer a more immersive and effective method for learning English pronunciation. These findings highlight the potential of advanced technologies to enhance language learning and offer valuable insights for educators and institutions.
