Description

This workshop will explore cutting-edge techniques in the field of de novo peptide sequencing, highlighting the latest tools, applications, and the opportunities for scientific breakthroughs. De novo peptide sequencing is a powerful technique for determining the amino acid sequence of peptides without prior knowledge of the genome or protein database. It has significant implications for proteomics and the understanding of complex biological processes, including applications in immunopeptidomics, antibody sequencing, metaproteomics, and paleoproteomics. Participants will delve into the state-of-the-art methodologies, examining their strengths, limitations, and areas ripe for innovation. Discussions will cover the diverse applications of de novo sequencing and how they can be used to complement database searches. The workshop aims to foster a vibrant exchange of ideas, encourage collaboration, and identify new research directions in this rapidly evolving field. The workshop will also strive to establish consensus on a transparent and reproducible proving ground for new and existing de novo methods.
