An Integrated Multi-Actor Approach for Modelling Emergent Behaviour in Heterogeneous Systems

The research report describes an integrated multi-agent approach and methodology for modelling interactions, scenarios and emergent behaviour in time-sensitive heterogeneous systems. The report reviews scientific approaches for capturing essential characteristics of time-sensitive heterogeneous systems, analyses the essence of emergent behaviour and suggests a specific model that supports analysis of the system behaviour and interactions with the environment. The implementation of the model is illustrated by case studies and examples form several application domains (logistics, risk and security assessments, cyber-physical systems, sociotechnical systems, etc).
