Description
Does your library have public-facing guidelines to set patron expectations for non-curation data services? If the answer is “no” or “I’m not sure”, you’re not alone! This interactive webinar will build off a discussion on the IASSIST listserv about public-facing documentation that lays out specific data support services offered and sets patron expectations of data services. To set the stage, Vicky Rampin (NYU) will discuss the process around creating the NYU data services service guidelines, and Stephanie Labou (UC San Diego) will talk about how similar guidelines were adapted and implemented at the UC San Diego Library. Most of the webinar will be dedicated to sharing use cases and issues attendees would like boundaries around, as well as hands-on time to collaboratively draft guidelines and policies, or critically review local policies. Bring your guidelines if they exist, or pain points that you’d like to address in guidelines!
