Liberal Devletin Feodal Kökenleri / Feudal Origins of the Liberal State
Description
Conceptualizations of limited government/state and separation of powers are basic foundations of liberal state theory. These two sets of concepts, on the one hand, symbolize the liberal state as the result of a struggle of the libertarian bourgeoisie against the reactionary aristocratic forces, and on the other hand, they are used to ground the distinctive difference of Europe compared to all non-European societies. Thus, liberal state theory stands out as the central approach of the Eurocentric perspective. Within the framework of the social history of political thought and social property relations approaches, it has been revealed that the mentioned basic foundations of the liberal state and Eurocentrism originate from feudal intra-class power relations. In this context, it has been proven that the liberal state does not essentially come from a modern-liberating origin, both in terms of the nature and scope of freedom and the meanings attributed to the concept of people.
