A3.1 Report on statistical analysis

Within the framework of the NewLife4Drylands (NL4D) Project, the A3 action aims to structure a procedure for assessing soil degradation, monitoring this process and assessing the restoration actions that need to be carried out to counter this phenomenon at local level. More specifically, this contribution (deliverable D.3.1) sets out an analysis that attempts to examine the correlations between the satellite indices and indicators (set out in action A2) and the information generated by the soil that has been collected for every one of the pilot sites involved in the project. The structure of the research on the correlations is considered a necessary and essential step for the A3 action and aims to identify any potential and optimal possibilities and useful information for achieving the action’s aim. It examines a process that uses satellite-generated indices/indicators and monitors the effectiveness of the restoration actions required for fighting soil degradation at local level.
