A detailed warning value chain assessment for Storm Eunice

This case study event, part of the WMO WWRP HIWeather Value Chain project, utilizes the detailed warning value chain questionnaire template (https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.10457434) to evaluate the performance of early warning systems during Storm Eunice, which affected parts of the UK on 18 Feburary 2022. By applying this comprehensive tool, the Met Office conducted an end-to-end assessment of the warning process, from initial forecast to public response. The analysis highlights key strengths and areas for improvement in the communication and effectiveness of the warning systems, providing valuable insights and best practices for enhancing future weather-related emergency responses.
