Material examined. INCOECO stations: BC12 0611, 1 specimen, 998 m depth; BC15 0611, 2 specimens, 396 m depth. INFUECO stations: BC17 0611, 1 specimen, 833 depth.

Habitat. Up to 70 m depth, in sandy or muddy sediments, on calcareous substrates. In marine caves of Tenerife previously registered as S. cf bulbosa (Riera et al. 2016).

Distribution. Arctic Ocean (Ramos et al. 2010), Atlantic Ocean, from the English Channel to the Canary Islands. Mediterranean Sea and Black Sea.
