  "description": "<p>Las pulgas y garrapatas son ectoparásitos comunes de mamíferos domésticos como el perro (Canis lupus familiaris). En Colombia se conoce que estos mamíferos pueden ser reservorios de bacterias del género Rickettsia, agentes etiológicos de fiebres hemorrágicas que pueden desencadenar en casos fatales cuando no son detectadas a tiempo. Por otra parte, en la actual pandemia de Covid -19, no existen estudios encaminados a la detección de SARS-Cov-2 en mascotas en el país, aun cuando existe evidencia de infección por el virus en otros países. Durante el desarrollo del proyecto se pretende detectar SARS-Cov-2 en caninos e identificar Rickettsia spp., asociadas a ectoparásitos (pulgas y garrapatas) de caninos procedentes del área metropolitana de la ciudad de Bucaramanga.</p>\n<p>Pulgas y garrapatas fueron colectadas manualmente en perros infestados, además de muestras respiratorias e intestinales. La identificación de los ectoparásitos se realizo utilizando caracteres morfológicos (claves dicotómicas) y moleculares (cox2 y cox 1, 16S e ITS2). La detección de Rickettsia se realizo usando pooles de pulgas y garrapatas, que serán organizados por especie, y se usará para la identificación de las bacterias un fragmento del gen de la enzima citrato sintasa (gltA) y una proteína de membrana (ompB); para SARS-Cov2 en caninos se amplificará los genes E y Rd/Rp.</p>\n<p>El presente conjunto de datos cuenta con 17 registros biológicos de la familia Pulicidae, especie Ctenocephalides felis. Los datos fueron recopilados el 19 de enero del 2022.</p>",
