  "description": "<p>La sierra de Pachuca es una de las regiones del centro de México y de la República Mexicana que más se han explorado y colectado desde el punto de vista botánico. Desde el siglo pasado fue visitada por distinguidos naturalistas europeos y norteamericanos que hicieron colecciones científicas de plantas silvestres, principalmente, en los distritos mineros de Pachuca, Real del Monte y el Chico. Esta tarea, sostenida hasta nuestros días por el trabajo de destacados científicos tanto nacionales como extranjeros, ha resultado de particular interés para el conocimiento de la flora de México y del mundo ya que los especimenes colectados por ellos han servido, entre otras cosas, como base para la descripción de nuevas especies. Aquí destacamos la contribución de los responsables de este proyecto quienes, con el apoyo de la CONABIO, concretaron su experiencia de varios años de trabajo de campo, gabinete, revisión bibliográfica y de herbario, en la publicación del inventario florístico de las fanerógamas silvestres que existen en la sierra de Pachuca, contribuyendo así al conocimiento de la flora del estado de Hidalgo y, por ende, a la del país.
