General Information:

Anthropomorphic head-and-neck phantom from tissue equivalent material, with the possibility to introduce different nasal cavity fillings and weight changes.

With this phantom, different Computed Tomography (CT) scans were acquired, with a Siemens Sensation Open CT-on-Rail machine, to simulate an online daily adaptive proton therapy scenario,
at Gantry 2 of the Center of Proton Therapy at Paul Scherrer Insitute.

One reference CT is provided, containing also reference structures (dicom).
The phantom's different positions and the introduced anatomical changes are always described compared to the reference CT position/anatomy. The manuscripts referred to in this dataset contain figures describing these changes for visual examples.

The repeated CTs have different anatomical scenarios (different nasal cavity fillings, fat layer in the neck for weight gain) and/or different positions with respect to the reference CT.

The repeated CT images of this phantom total 26, all in dicom format. 

Here, we split the repeated CTs based on different positions/anatomical changes. Originally, these 26 repeated CTs were acquired to simulate an online adaptive proton therapy scenario.

--> SamePosition_SameAnatomy (CTs 1-5) 
	5 different CTs with the phantom placed in the same position, with the same anatomy per the reference CT

--> 1cmLaterally_SameAnatomy (CTs 9-11) 
	3 different CTs with the phantom placed 1cm laterally compared to the refCT, with the same anatomy per the reference CT

--> SamePosition_HalfAnatomy (CTs 12-17) 
	6 different CTs with the phantom placed in the same position, with half fillings placed in the nasal cavity areas of the phantom

--> SamePosition_EmptyAnatomy (CTs 18-23) 
	6 different CTs with the phantom placed in the same position, with no fillings placed in the nasal cavity areas of the phantom

--> DifferentPosition_EmptyAnatomy (CTs 24-26) 
	3 different CTs with the phantom placed slightly shifted and rotated compared to the refCT, with no fillings placed in the nasal cavity areas of the phantom

--> SamePosition_FatLayerNeck (CTs 6-8) 
	3 different CTs with the phantom placed in the same position, with a fat layer placed on the neck of the phantom
	(the positioning of the phantom is the same per the reference CT, however the fat layer of the neck is introducing a rotation/shift)
