LIA - A Digital Field Trial Data Infrastructure

Description

The great thing about most RDM tools is that they focus on dataset storage. The downside is that they don't help during data generation. The agro-system community handles a wide range of data from different areas, using various standards. This creates a rich tapestry of heterogeneous systems that complicates interoperability and data reuse. LIA is a web application using a relational database (PostgreSQL) and a PHP framework (Yii). It is accessible to all JKI members and external partners and facilitates quality-assured research data management following the FAIR principles. It is designed to seamlessly guide projects from experimental design to publication and long-term storage. As we continue to develop, we recognise that different disciplines have different needs and strive to integrate established and well-functioning systems. By incorporating diverse data and automatically documenting metadata, LIA allows complex information from different departments to be aggregated and analysed independently of individuals.
