Database for hydrology research between 1980 and 2023
Creators
Description
This database was developed in a study titled “Hydrological research evolution: A large language model–based analysis of 310,000 studies published globally between 1980 and 2023” (Miao et al., 2024). It includes data from a quantitative literature review, based on searches performed with the Web of Science (WoS) search engine across all available databases. The search was performed in October 2023, encompassing the fields of title, abstract, journal name, authors’ names, authors’ affiliations, authors’ keywords and WoS generated keywords, and other information provided by WoS. See Miao et al. (2024) for further search method and other study descriptions.
The WoS source data is provided in Text files (*.txt), comprising and organized in four folders which represent search results for different keywords and publication dates. The preprocessed data is provided in a Comma-Separated Values (CSV) file (record_txt_unique.csv), which is the product of merging, deduplicating, and filtering the results of the WoS source data.
