A Simplified Setup for Passive Intermodulation Measurement
Authors/Creators
Description
This paper presents a simplified setup for measurement of passive intermodulation products using a single amplifier, bank of filters and a duplexer. It is shown that this proposed setup brings some advantages compared to the classic two-amplifier setup. The measured PIM levels obtained from this simplified setup were verified through a comparison with measurement results yielded using a commercial PIM analyzer. A good agreement between both measurements was achieved. The reported measurement uncertainty is 2.5 dB for the measured PIM level -80 dB(mW).
