  "description": "<p>Las Ochrophytas dominan comúnmente las costas rocosas de agua frías y templadas en todo el mundo. La variedad de formas exhibidas por este grupo es bastante notable. Se han descrito más de 2000 especies dentro de unos 285 géneros, alrededor de 50 familias y 19 órdenes. La morfología de los miembros de este grupo varía drásticamente desde filamentosos uniseriados microscópicos hasta algas de muchos metros de longitud. Presentan variación en su pigmentación que va desde amarillo pardo o pardo oscuro.</p>\n<p>La colección de macroalgas de Germán Bula Meyer se mantuvo en las instalaciones de la Universidad del Magdalena hasta la conformación del Centro de Colecciones Biológicas. Cuando se priorizó entre sus objetivos recuperar, organizar, catalogar y sistematizar los ejemplares. El resultado fue el registro de 433 ejemplares de Ochrophytas, de los cuales 54% está identificado a nivel de especie, 44% a nivel de género y el 2% corresponde a familia.</p>",
