  "description": "<p>Las lagartijas de la familia Anguidae tienen una importante representatividad de especies en México, con una distribución que abarca gran parte de este país. Sin embargo, la mayor parte de las especies de esta familia tienen un hábitat muy restringido, además de ser organismos generalmente poco conspicuos. Esto último se hace evidente en su pobre representatividad en colecciones científicas, en el conocimiento incompleto y aislado de diversos aspectos de su biología y conservación, así como en recientes descripciones de varias especies hasta hace poco no conocidas. A pesar de que actualmente un total de 35 especies de ánguidos están incluidas en el Proyecto de Norma Oficial Mexicana (PROY-NOM-059-ECOL-2000), resulta aún indispensable efectuar una reevaluación acerca de sus categorías especificadas, ya que estudios recientes han evidenciado que muchas de estas especies han visto afectadas considerablemente sus poblaciones debido a la acelerada destrucción de su hábitat.</p>\n<p>Reino: 1\nFilo: 1\nClase: 1\nOrden: 1\nFamilia: 2\nGénero: 8\nEspecie: 28</p>",
