Description

This document provides an overview of the basics of open source software, open hardware and open data from the perspective of intellectual property law. The document is intended as a background document to the licensing framework that should be developed as a second deliverable in WP1. This deliverable contains summaries of important legal cases and a discussion of important recent cases. Finally, it sets out the legal cases that should provide a focus for the licensing framework, i.e., the problems it should tackle.
