Stakeholder driven climate services for South Africa (STADCLIM-SA): Review of climate services in South Africa

Authors/Creators

Description

The report summarises the climate services already developed in South Africa together with their providers. In addition, the report outlines, where possible, a summary of how these services have been co-produced with the relevant stakeholders, including an assessment of the level of co-production that was involved, their use (where this can be determined), as well as any ethical issues which may have arisen, for example concerning accessibility and use of the products. It also provides a brief summary of the existing user needs for climate services in South Africa.

This work has been carried out under the Work Package 4 of Weather and Climate Science for Service Partnership Programme (WCSSP) for South Africa which focuses on the development of prototype climate services. The objective of the WCSSP for South Africa is to promote and strengthen scientific partnerships and collaboration between the UK and South Africa in the area of weather and climate science and services.
