  "description": "El Museo de Historia Natural de la Universidad de la Amazonia UAM, ha sido uno de los centros de apoyo a la extensión, docencia e investigación más importantes del sur del país. Se encuadra vinculado al Centro de Investigación de la Biodiversidad Andino Amazónica –INBIANAM. \nTiene como Misión ser una Institución sólida en los procesos académicos e investigativos, mediante la formulación y elaboración de proyectos enmarcados en los niveles jerárquicos y atributos de la biodiversidad y los procesos de desarrollo sustentable de la cuenca amazónica, que ayuden a proteger, conservar y estudiar la diversidad biológica, socializar y divulgar la información entre la comunidad científica, estudiantil y la sociedad en general.\n\nSu visión ser interdisciplinario y reconocido como pionero en la cuenca amazónica en procesos de diagnósticos, caracterización, manejo, restauración y conservación de la biodiversidad amazónica colombina a nivel nacional e internacional. \n\nEl museo de historia natural UAM, tiene una colección de Zoología de vertebrados, con especímenes de Ornitología, Mastozoología, Herpetología e Ictiología. La colección de mastozoología cuenta con información consolidada de muchas especies de mamíferos colectados y algunos donados por medios externos  al Museo de Historia Natural (sede centro) de la Universidad de la Amazonia (Florencia – Caquetá) con el fin de enriquecer la colección y favorecer la distribución geográfica registrada dentro de la región Andino-Amazónica; cada uno de los individuos registrados consta de su respectiva taxonomía, distribución, ecología y endemismo. Todo se resume en 1278 ejemplares registrados, en los que se encuentran 27 familias, 68 géneros y por lo menos 105 especies.",
