Navigating the Future of Rural Connectivity: The XGAIN Tool Architecture

Description

The XGAIN project addresses rural connectivity challenges using the Knowledge Facilitation Tool (KFT). This tool guides the implementation of technologies tailored to rural needs, considering diverse end devices and communication technologies. The KFT's architecture is systematically designed based on stakeholder requirements, comprising modules for requirement gathering, technology selection, analysis, and business model proposals. A mockup aids in visualizing dashboard features and refining functionalities. Challenges in architecture design are being addressed iteratively, with future work focusing on implementation and integration of KFT modules.

This work has been developed in the context of the XGain project (101060294). XGain fosters a sustainable, balanced, and inclusive development of rural, coastal and urban areas by facilitating access to relevant stakeholders to a comprehensive inventory of smart XG, last-mile connectivity and edge computing solutions, and of related assessment methods.
