Attitudes of Nizwa University students towards globalization and its repercussions on Omani cultural identity

Abstract: The study aimed to know the attitudes of the students of the University of Nizwa towards globalization and its implications for the Omani cultural identity. The simple random method available. The study concluded several results, most notably, the absence of statistically significant differences about globalization and its reflections on the Omani cultural identity among the students of the University of Nizwa from their point of view due to the variables (gender, scientific college, scientific level). One of the most prominent recommendations of the study is to take advantage of the huge capabilities and multiple facilities that globalization offers in the field of knowledge progress and technological development, to preserve the national identity and Omani culture, and to make sure to conduct more studies and research on the subject of globalization and its implications for the cultural identity in the Omani society.

اتجاهات طلبة جامعة نزوى نحو العولمة وانعكاساتها على الهوية الثقافية العمانية

الملخص:  هدفت الدراسة إلى معرفة اتجاهات طلبة جامعة نزوى نحو العولمة وانعكاساتها على الهوية الثقافية العمانية، واعتمدت الدراسة على منهج المسح الاجتماعي بالعينة، وعلى الاستبانة كأداة لجمع البيانات، وتم توزيع الأداة على عينة الدراسة التي بلغت (310) طالباً وطالبة بجامعة نزوى، وتم تحديد عينة الدراسة بالطريقة العشوائية البسيطة المتاحة، وقد خلصت الدراسة إلى عدة نتائج من أبرزها، عدم وجود فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية حول العولمة وانعكاساتها على الهوية الثقافية العمانية لدى طلاب جامعة نزوى من وجهة نظرهم تعزى لمتغيرات ( النوع، الكلية العلمية، المستوى العلمي). ومن أبرز توصيات الدراسة الاستفادة من الإمكانات الهائلة والتسهيلات المتعددة التي تقدمها العولمة خدمة في مجال التقدم المعرفي، والتطور التكنولوجي، للحفاظ على الهوية الوطنية، والثقافة العمانية، والحرص على إجراء المزيد من الدراسات والبحوث حول موضوع العولمة وانعكاساتها على الهوية الثقافية في المجتمع العماني.
