# Reconstruction of long-term high-resolution lake variability: algorithm improvement and applications in China License The copyright of the dataset rests with the author. This dataset documents the surface water area time series for all studied lakes in China during the period of 2000-2019 (in a single csv file format). Note that: 1. We used the lake polygons from the GLAKES dataset to define the boundary of lakes in China. The GLAKES polygons can be obtained via the following link: https://zenodo.org/record/7016548. 2. The lake area values can be regarded as a reflection of the annual average of the surface water distribution within lakes (see Section 2.3 of this paper for details). The dataset includes the following attributes: 1. GLAKES_ID: the identification of each GLAKE lake polygon. 2. Year: the specific year for the time-related variables presented below. 3. Reservoir_flag: a indicator to identify whether the lake is a manmade reservoir (value=1) or a natural lake (value=0). 4. Area_raw: the surface water area for each lake before recovery (square kilometers). 5. Area_dr: the surface water area for each lake after recovery (square kilometers).
