Description

13th century single-light trefoil-headed (three lobed) sanstone window in the eastern gable of Monsea church ruins, Co. Tipperary. The medieval parish church of Monsea (Maigh Saotha/Plain of the diseases), stands in the diocese of Killaloe, barony of Ormond Lower. In the 13th century the eastern gable of the church was lit by three single light-trefoil headed windows. In the 15th/16th century the central single light trefoil-headed window was replaced by a twin-light window.
