"Mapping of Global Scientific Research in Comorbidity and Multimorbidity: A Cross-Sectional Analysis" -- October 2017, prepared by F. Catalá López, A. Adolfo Alonso-Arroyo and R. Aleixandre-Benavent (on behalf of the team of co-authors). --- This dataset was created in the context of the project: "Mapping of Global Scientific Research in Comorbidity and Multimorbidity: A Cross-Sectional Analysis". --- This study aimed to map global scientific research in comorbidity and multimorbidity to understand the maturity and growth of the area during the past decades. The study was a cross-sectional analysis of the Web of Science Core Collection database. Searches were run from inception until November 8, 2016. We included research articles or reviews with no restrictions by language or publication date. A process of standardization was conducted by two researchers to unify different terms and grammatical variants and to remove typographical, transcription, and/or indexing errors. Descriptive analyses were conducted (including the number of papers, citations, signatures, most prolific authors, countries, journals and keywords). Network analyses of collaborations between countries and co-words were presented. --- The dataset consist of the following: 1) The list of papers included in the analyses: Papers.xlsx This file contains all 85994 papers, each line representing a paper (including an ID number, title of the paper, journal ISSN, year of publication and typology of document). 2) The list of authors: Authors.xlsx This file contains all 299709 authors, each line representing an author (including full name, total number of papers, number of articles and number of reviews). 3) The list of scientific journals: Journals.xlsx This file containts all 3500 journals, each line representing a journal (including name of the journal, ISSN, total number of papers, percentage, and year of publication). 4) The list of countries: Country.xlsx This file contains all 168 countries, each line representing a country (including country name, total number of papers, total number of citations, and number of citations per paper). 5) The list of subject categorys (as per the Web of Science): Subject_category.xlsx This file contains all 161 subjects categories, each line representing a subject category (including subject categories, number of journals, number of papers and number of papers per journal). 6) The list of keywords: Keywords.xlsx This file contains all 7147 keywords, each line representing a keyword (including keywords, number of papers and year of publication) --- Cite data as: Catalá-López F, Alonso-Arroyo A, Aleixandre-Benavent R, et al..
