Combining different experiences in a museum visit

Description

The purpose of the announcement is to present, on the one hand, the idea that is hidden behind the combination of different experiences to highlight the cultural heritage and provide a unique experience to the visitor of a museum and cultural space in general, and on the other hand, the results collected from the implementation of such a type of action at the Archaeological Museum of Arta with high school students and adults as recipients. The action carried out within the framework of the Voeska research project offered the participants a multi-layered experience which started with the reading of a digital narration, from the "Letters from the past" created for the project. They then took part in a treasure hunt in the halls of the museum locating, with the help of puzzles, exhibits related to the letter. Writing a response to the letter and reading it to the other participants completed the experience. The positive and enthusiastic response of the participants to this different way of visiting the museum is proof of the need to adopt new methods in highlighting our cultural heritage and in the way of approaching the public.
