- Zeta-potential was measured DelsaMax Pro Zeta instrument (Beckman Coulter, Indianapolis, USA). Each sample was measured ten times and averaged aftewards. The measured data supporting data mentioned in text are reported as an excel file.

-infectivity was measured using a double layer agar plating. Three measurements were averaged. The measured data supporting Figure 1 are reported as an excel file.

-DLS data set contains the correlation function measured on ALV DLS set up described in the material and methods here: https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jcis.2023.11.055. The measured data supporting data mentioned in figure 2 and figures S1-5 are reported as text files.

-SANS data contain the intensity curves and standard devations in intensity and q obtained after integration and averaging of the 2D patterns at the ZOOM beamline, extra data sets concerning these measurements can be found here:10.5286/ISIS.E.RB2220370.
