The article deals with the problem of teacher training for the implementation of the principle of continuity in the field of speech development of preschool and primary school children. Modern approaches to solving the problem of continuity between these educational stages are identified. Psychological and pedagogical conditions for the implementation of continuing education, as well as methodological conditions for the implementation of the principle of continuity in the process of language and speech development of students are highlighted. The content of the textbook "Speech task book of a preschooler" is revealed, aimed at improving the effectiveness of improving the speech activity of preschoolers and younger schoolchildren based on the implementation of the principle of continuity.
