Abstract (in English)

This paper discusses neo-liberal tendencies in the Iraqi Kurdistan (IK) education policy. To do this, I use globalisation, Europeanisation, and internationalisation as analytical tools to analyse policy statements collected from documents, media, and formal media speeches. I first identify neoliberal tendencies in IK education policy and argue that neoliberal rationales have worked through initiating and introducing major policy agendas in the region. I then use globalisation, Europeanisation, and internationalisation as contemporary policy machines that have facilitated the realisation of neoliberal tendencies. I conclude with example projects to illustrate the workings of neoliberalisation.
