THE EVOLUTION OF ACUTE NON-PROFESSIONAL EXOGENOUS POISONING OF CHEMICAL ETIOLOGY IN THE UNGHENI DISTRICT, DURING THE PERIOD OF 2017–2021

Objective. The objectives of this paper consist in the hygienic estimation of the risks to the health of the population associated with exposure to dangerous chemicals, for the period of 2017-2021 in Ungheni district.

Material and methods. International publications on acute intoxications of chemical etiology were studied, the data from statistical forms 18-săn and no. 360-1/e and data of the National Bureau of Statistics.

Results. In the Ungheni district, in the period 2017-2021, 300 cases of IANEEC were registered. Depending on the chemical substance that caused the poisoning, those with drugs are predominant both at the country level, 38.6%, and in the Ungheni district, where they constitute more than half of the total number of poisonings, 56.7%. According to the structure of exogenous non-professional acute intoxications of chemical etiology by age groups, we note that in the Ungheni district, the age group (children) from 0-18 years is more affected by 50.7% compared to the same age group at the country level 39.4%.

Conclusions. Acute exogenous non-professional intoxications of chemical etiology in the Ungheni district constitute a pressing public health problem, which requires the involvement of all decision-makers as well as the institutions responsible for increasing the level of awareness of the population, preventing cases of poisoning, as well as reducing the risks caused by substances chemicals, in order to reduce the population's illness through acute poisoning of chemical etiology, including among children.
