We propose the Secure Analysis Environment (SANE): a virtual container in which the researcher analyses sensitive data, but the data provider retains full control.
\n\n
In SANE, scientists can conduct research according to the principles of Five Safes with data that was previously hardly available. SANE exists in 2 variants:
\n\n
\n\t
Tinker SANE: the researcher can see, manipulate and play with the data.
\n\t
Blind SANE: the researcher submits an algorithm without seeing the data. The data provider approves the algorithm and the output.
\n
\n\n
Lucas van der Meer, ODISSEI & Steven Claeyssens, Koninklijke Bibliotheek
", "license": "https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/legalcode", "creator": [ { "affiliation": "ODISSEI", "@id": "https://orcid.org/0000-0003-4415-678X", "@type": "Person", "name": "Lucas van der Meer" }, { "affiliation": "Koninklijke Bibliotheek", "@id": "https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1110-5935", "@type": "Person", "name": "Steven Claeyssens" }, { "affiliation": "SURF", "@type": "Person", "name": "Martin Brandt" } ], "url": "https://zenodo.org/record/7074192", "datePublished": "2022-06-23", "keywords": [ "Data infrastructure", "Secure analysis", "Privacy", "Sensitive data", "Copyright", "Competition" ], "@context": "https://schema.org/", "identifier": "https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7074192", "@id": "https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.7074192", "@type": "PresentationDigitalDocument", "name": "SANE - Secure ANalysis Environment @SURF Cloud" }
