Tersilochus (Tersilochus) grandiculus Khalaim, 2012

Material examined. JAPAN. Shikoku I.: 1 ♀ (EUM) Ehime Pref., 11–20. VI.2012, coll. Eiji Yamamoto. 1 ♀ (EUM) Ehime Pref., Kumakogen, 21–30. VI.2012, coll. Eiji Yamamoto.

Diagnosis. Gena and mesopleuron more or less smooth, distinctly punctate (Fig. 44). Clypeus large, lenticular. Malar space 0.7–0.9× as long as basal mandibular width (Fig. 44).Antennal flagellum tapered towards apex. Notaulus distinct, with irregular wrinkles (Fig. 44). Foveate groove of mesopleuron deep and long, distinctly upcurved anteriorly, with transverse wrinkles (Fig. 45). Propodeal spiracle moderately large, separated from pleural carina by 1.5–2.0× diameter of spiracle (Figs 44, 45). First tergite smooth laterally and dorsally (Figs 44, 46); postpetiole in dorsal view much wider than petiole; glymma large, joining by distinct furrow to ventral part of postpetiole (Figs 44, 46). Thyridial depression slightly elongate (Fig. 48). Ovipositor short and robust, apically strongly upcurved and with lower valve expanded ventrally; ovipositor with two dorsal subapical depressions or notches and two more or less distinct rounded teeth before these depressions (Fig. 47). Predominantly black species with metasoma posterior to first tergite and all legs (except coxae) predominantly yellowish brown to reddish brown (Fig. 43).

Remarks. Female from Kumakogen, Ehime Pref. possesses abnormal first metasomal tergite which is abruptly curved posteriorly in lateral view (Fig. 46) and has a pair of strong spiracular prominences (Fig. 48). Another female from Ehime Pref. bears a parasitic larva of a mite belonging to Parasitengona (Acariformes: Trombidiformes) on dorsolateral side of the fifth tergite (Figs 43, 49).

Distribution. Russian Siberia and Far East; in Japan known from Shikoku I. First record from Japan.
