Description

After the release of DSpace 7.0 on Aug 2, 2021, the DSpace team has released regular 7.x updates to enhance the platform. Each of these releases have included the migration of older 6.x features into 7.x, as well as brand new features to DSpace. These releases include:

- 7.1 (Nov, 2021): Added Request a Copy, Item Versioning, OAI Harvesting, new IIIF Support, and Entities enhancements and more

- 7.2 (Feb, 2022): Added Item embargoes, Feedback form, IIIF enhancements, and OpenID Connect authentication, and more

- 7.3 (June, 2022): Plan to add Batch Metadata Editing enhancements, Advanced ORCID integration, morel metadata import sources (CiNii, CrossRef, Scopus, etc), Recent Submissions list, Admin Control Panel, Hierarchical controlled vocabularies, Entities Versioning, Signposting, and more…

These regular releases have been (partially) funded by DSpace Membership, and prioritized via a Roadmap voted on by DSpace Governance. Several community donated contributions have also helped us move more quickly to enhance 7.x.

This talk will cover the recent 7.x releases and the Roadmap going forward. It will also discuss how you can get involved and help 7.x move more rapidly, via either code contributions or DSpace Membership.
