GOhydro D7.1 - Project management plan and quality assurance guidelines
Description
The present deliverable will serve as the core management handbook for the execution of the GOhydro project. In general, the project management is the application of knowledge, skills, tools, and techniques to project activities to meet the project requirements. In the case of GOhydro, this work is substantially supported using Google services for creating and sharing documents, providing relevant templates and distributing guidelines and central project information.
According to the Project Management Institute1, project management revolves around five Process Groups, namely:
- Initiating,
- Planning,
- Executing,
- Monitoring and Controlling
- Closing
Some of the processes that are included in the above process groups on which the specific deliverable will focus and analyse are the following:
- Managing the consortium towards meeting project requirements and creating project deliverables,
- Communicating within the consortium as well as with the ICT-AGRI-FOOD Coordinator and the ICT-AGRI-FOOD Monitoring Secretariat,
- Addressing the various needs of the stakeholders in planning and executing the project,
- Submitting reports and deliverables
- Legal and financial tasks in the GOhydro project such as:
- Management of contractual issues and timely distribution of corresponding documents and relevant information to partners (e.g., regarding midterm report, final report and consortium agreement),
- Communication between consortium partners and the ICT-AGRI-FOOD Monitoring Secretariat on project- and funding-related questions,
Additionally, this deliverable presents a quality assurance handbook for GOhydro project partners. It outlines the rules, the mechanisms and the processes that are set in place to ensure and achieve a certain quality level in the project structure and its outcomes. One crucial aspect of this deliverable is concerned with identifying and monitoring project risks. To this direction, this deliverable will also describe the steps and actions needed to set up and implement appropriate contingency plans. In doing so, the main goal of this deliverable is to provide guidance to all partners with regard to questions of management and quality control as well as to facilitate their cooperation within the project. In this context, it will depict efficient ways of collaboration between the management team and Work Package (WP) leaders. This collaboration is necessary for the successful implementation of the project. It will also support partners through clear and concise management and quality procedures to achieve their specific missions and tasks.
