Phytoseiulus chanti Ehara, 1966: 135 (synonymy, Denmark & Muma 1973). Phytoseiulus speyeri Evans, 1952: 398 (synonymy, Denmark & Muma 1973).

Remarks: This species was described from specimens collected in Eustis, Florida, USA, on water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes: Pontederiaceae). In Africa, it was reported only from Angola (Carmona, 1968). No additional specimens were collected in the present study.

World distribution. Angola, Argentina, Barbados, Brazil, Canada, Canary Islands, Colombia, Cook Island, Costa Rica, Cuba, Fiji, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Guatemala, Hawaii, Honduras, Jamaica, Les Saintes, Marie Galante, Martinique, Mexico, Montenegro, Moto Quavarei, New Caledonia, Panama, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Saint Martin, Tahiti, USA and Venezuela.
