Description

Subfamily Spheniinae F. R. Bernard, 1983

Diagnosis. Shell small, inflated, ovate to ovate-elongate, usually distorted; posterior area truncated, with narrow gape; sculpture of irregular commarginal striae; hinge of left valve with flattened chondrophore, right valve with a small resilifer; pallial line discontinuous, pallial sinus shallow to moderately deep.
