  <dc:description>The deliverable describes the preliminary definition of model templates that will be used during virtual cohort generation of both aortic valve disease and heart failure patients. The document gives an overview of the available models for simulating the physiology of these patient groups, both before and after transcatheter aortic valve implantation or insertion of a pulmonary artery pressure sensor, respectively. In addition, it describes the intended use of these models. Thereafter, it is presented how the optimal model complexity of our virtual cohort generator is selected, and how the models are validated on patient-level. Moreover, the document discusses surrogate models that are currently selected as potential candidates for fast model evaluations during uncertainty quantification, sensitivity analyses and virtual cohort generation. Finally, we describe how we envision integration of the model templates into the virtual research environment, and we speculate on future strategies for mapping engineering metrics into clinical outcomes.</dc:description>
