  <dc:description>The deliverable describes the preliminary definition of the physiological outputs that will be used during virtual patient cohort generation of both heart failure and aortic valve disease patients. We will define clinically measurable outputs that are representative for the patient groups, both before and after, respectively, transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) or insertion of a pulmonary artery pressure sensor (PAPS). In addition, clinical targets, related to the clinical performance of the implants, are translated to engineering metrics that can be calculated with physiological models. The targets are paravalvular leakage (TAVI), device migration and vessel perforation (PAPS), and thrombosis (TAVI and PAPS). Finally, we will give output ranges based on literature and simulations that have been conducted prior to the start of the project. These output ranges will be used to remove unrealistic virtual patients (i.e., outside the output ranges) during virtual cohort generation.</dc:description>
