This publication is the outcome of a case study-based research project into Justin Zijlstra’s VR artwork, 100 Jaar Vrouwenkiesrecht (2018-2019), conducted on behalf of Atria Kennisinstituut voor Emancipatie en Vrouwengeschiedenis. Outcomes included the in-depth documentation of the artwork and its components, isolation of the main preservation concerns, the investigation of a number of conservation strategies and the creation of several disc images of the work for preservation purposes. It also included the formulation of a more general “Recommendation Checklist for the Preservation of VR artworks” to be used as a conservation guideline.
