    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;Bare structural steel samples were exposed for one month up to one year at atmospheric conditions on PLOCAN&amp;#39;s offshore platform outside Las Palmas.&amp;nbsp;Loss in steel sample thickness (and corrosion rates) were measure by weight loss measurement.&amp;nbsp;The results indicate a corrosivity of 0.18 (mm/yr) which campares to corrosivity category C5 (very high).&lt;/p&gt;</description>
