Exoplanets: characterization

We discuss the problems to characterize small planets by radial velocity measurements due to the effects of stellar variability. We present what we can learn from the properties of the Sun, as an example of what to find in other solar-type stars. We end with the EPRV WG Report Executive Summary: "We recommend immediately implementing a long-term, large-scale, interdisciplinary reseach and analysis program in [intrinsic stellar variability]".
