Calamus brachysomus
Description
Calamus brachysomus (Lockington, 1880).
Pacific Porgy. To about 61 cm (24 in) TL (Miller and Lea 1972). Oceanside, southern California (Miller and Lea 1972) to northern Chile (Sielfeld et al. 2010), including Islas Galápagos, Gulf of California (Miller and Lea 1972), and Isla Malpelo (Robertson and Allen 2002). Depth: surface (Miller and Lea 1972), 1–80 m (4–262 ft) (min.: Personal communication: Scripps Institution of Oceanography Fish Collection, La Jolla, California; max.: Bianchi in Fischer et al. 1995).
