    <dct:description>&lt;p&gt;&amp;quot;The Exciting News of Ostend&amp;quot; virtual exhibition explores the siege of Ostend (1601-1604),&amp;nbsp;one of the great sieges of early modern times, through letters, handwritten newsletters, printed books, maps and paintings.&lt;br&gt; It&amp;nbsp;reconstructs both the impact the siege&amp;nbsp;had on the lives of the soldiers and the people involved, and its media impact.
