Planning for Data Management

  • 1. University of Florida

Description

This is 1 of 6 webinars scheduled for Fall 2021 for UF researchers. 28 researchers attended this webinar. Increasingly, researchers are required to develop data management plans detailing the aggregation, dissemination, and preservation of their research. This is particularly true for federally-funded research. The funding, managing, and sharing of research data involve multiple stakeholders throughout the data lifecycle. This training workshop will introduce the participants to (1) key stakeholders responsible for effective data management, (2) key components of a data management plan (includes ownership, collection, storage, and sharing), (3) some UF infrastructure and resources to include in a data management plan, and (5) the DMPTool that allows participants to develop a data management plan.

Notes

In this workshop, participants will: (1) Review DCC Checklist for Data Management Plan; (2) View two DMP examples from successfully awarded grant proposals by UF researchers, and (3) Explore the DMPTool (https://dmptool.org/) to create data management plans.
