ISOLATION, IDENTIFICATION AND CHARACTERIZATION OF SOME TERPENOIDS AND FLAVONOIDS FROM ROOTS OF BERGENIA LIGULATA (SAXIFRAGACEAE)

For the first time five compounds have been isolated from the roots of Bergenia ligulate. Lanost-7(8)-en-3b-formyl-6b-acetoxy-11b,15b-diol-26-heptanoxy-27-oic acid, Urs-12(13)-en-3b-22a-diol-15b-formyl-21b-glucoside, 9,11-Seco-lanost-20(22)-en-3b-formyl-18-phenoxyoate-12b-D-glucose, Sumatrol, and 5`-Methyleriodictyol-3`-O-b-D-galactopyranosyl(1®4)-a-L-rhamno- pyranose. Their structures were elucidated by chemical and physical data (IR, UV, ¹H-NMR, ¹³C-NMR and Mass spectra).
