Calculation for national allocation of global greenhouse gas emissions and removals targets

Yuwono, Bintang; Yowargana, Ping

These spreadsheet files contain results and detailed calculations for the national allocation of global greenhouse gas emissions and removals targets. The calculation is conducted through (i) identifying 32 global Energy and Agriculture, Forestry and Land-Use emissions scenarios resulting from combining shared-socioeconomic pathways (SSPs) and representative concentration pathways (RCPs) that are consistent with returning global warming to below 1.5°C (RCP 1.9) and 2°C (RCP 2.6); (ii) adoption of existing approaches and modification to generate additional approaches to allocate global emissions using a wide array of methods that reflect IPCC equity principles (i.e. responsibility, capacity, equality and right to development) and grandfathering; (iii) identification of suitable datasets and assumptions for each allocation approach; (iv) calculation of 416 national emissions scenarios for key countries resulting from applying 13 allocation approaches to 32 global emissions scenarios.
