    <description descriptionType="Abstract">&lt;p&gt;“Basal” is the first tagged release of our Matlab vocoder implementation. The code is designed to be versatile and easy to configure, offering many possibilities. It has now been used in quite a few studies and we feel that its basic features are mature enough.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;However note that more advanced aspects like the Bingabr filters or the ACE simulation have not been used for production yet, so might not be considered as properly validated yet.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Do not forget to read the documentation (README.md) file before using the vocoder, and keep in mind that vocoders are not magical beasts but fine tuned signal processing tools. In short, know what you are doing.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;&lt;strong&gt;vocoder&lt;/strong&gt; is licensed under the GNU GPLv3.0.&lt;/p&gt;
