MESA development archive

This is an archival copy of the MESA stellar evolution code between version 1 and 15197. This is NOT the place to download MESA from (See http://mesa.sourceforge.net/ instead).
This is provided as a copy of the development history that was not transferred to git from svn.  The root commit of the git repository corresponds to SVN revision 15140.

If you only need a single released version of MESA then the easier option will be to download from https://sourceforge.net/projects/mesa/files/releases/ . This file is ONLY needed if you need to run a non-released version of MESA from 2020 or earlier.

How to use

First extract the file:

xz --decompress mesa-svn.xz

Note the file is ~77GB when uncompressed and you'll need at least that much space again to convert the file into a svn repository.
    
This file is then a svn dump file which can be converted to a svn repo named ''mesa'' with:

svnadmin create mesa
svnadmin load mesa < mesa-svn
