The present document is intended to describe the thesis work carried out in cooperation with the German Aerospace Center (DLR). The purpose of this research work was the development of a methodology for the evaluation of innovative on-board systems dependability, focused on a model-based approach. Theon-board systems under analysis were supposed to be also integrated into a multidisciplinary environment. Therefore, another aim was to evaluate how the on-board systems dependability affected the overall aircraft performance ad costs. The thesis starts with the explanation of some topics essential for its comprehension (such as the different aircraft architectures characteristics, an overview of the multidisciplinary design, etc.). Then it continues with an in-depth analysis of the state of the art concerning the topics covered.Afterwards, it continues with a description of the developed methodology and finally, it illustrates the obtained results.
