<dc:description>A reflection on the causes and scope of the phenomenon of post–truth is proposed. It analyzes the fundamental notions with which it is related, namely, truth–lie, objectivity (conceptuality)–emotions, which through a process of deliberate distortion directly affects beliefs (individual / collective). Next, we analyze the philosophical context and the way in which the situation has been prepared for the appearance of this social phenomenon, which is post–truth. The need to reconstruct the notion of truth is reached, and for this, Apel's consensual theory of truth and the notion of «place that gives truth» by I. Ellacuría are used. </dc:description>
