Description

An investigation of studies of Pb(II) adsorption on silica gel from rice husk ash. This study aims to determine the optimum pH, the optimum contact time, the optimum concentration and the adsorption capacity of Pb(II) on silica gel from rice husk ash. In this study, silica gel made by using a solution of sodium silicate (Na2SiO3) the results of fusion with NaOH and rice husk waste area peat as a source of silica. Metal solution of Pb(II) is contacted with silica gel with variation of pH, contact time and concentration. From research results, the optimum pH obtained for the metals Pb(II) is 5 with the adsorbed metal concentration 36,940 mg/g. The optimum time for metal Pb(II) is 30 minutes with the adsorbed metal concentration 38,677 mg/g. The optimum concentration of metal Pb (II) is 150 ppm with the adsorbed metal concentration 57,541 mg/g. While the adsorption capacity is 76,920 mg/g.
